A good day, one peaceful and contented, lives on the breath and lives on the thought. Our breath can be forgotten, constricted, and suffocating, or remembered, deep, and liberating. Our thoughts can be rapid, self-defeating, and exhausting, or relaxed, empowering, and vitalizing. However we breathe, and however we think, accumulates; but without training, we tend to accumulate mostly negative breath patterns and ways of thinking. This makes for bad days.
We do not have to be this way. Every moment of breath and of thought is a moment we can change. The awareness created by meditation first makes us aware of what our thoughts are, then gives us the freedom to intentionally direct our thoughts in a way that best serves ourselves and others. Our minds become more joyful. Life becomes full of opportunities. Life becomes a good day.
We will meditate on the green grass, under the lovely trees of Star of the Sea Park. Bring a blanket and cushion to sit on, and layers in case of weather changes.
