Jordan Michael Leahy
Jordan is an ordained spiritual teacher in the tradition of Anam Thubten Rinpoche. He teaches meditation as a practical approach to wellness, inspiration, and peace of mind. With a master's degree in Religious Studies and a bachelor's degree in Writing and Literature, his teachings emphasize life's poetry, beauty, and meaning. He draws on the mystical understandings of numerous traditions to create a welcoming meditative atmosphere for people from diverse walks of life. His meditations and talks are interactive, conversational, and humorous. His approach is based on years of personal apprenticeship with reincarnated Tibetan Buddhist teachers, during which time he worked as translator and interpreter, serving as liaison between eastern and western minds. He has taught at Naropa University, the Tibetan Language Institute, Cabrillo College, and for the City of Watsonville With twenty-five years’ study and meditation experience in numerous meditation traditions—including Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, Zen and Japanese spirituality, Yoga, Tai Chi, Aikido, shamanism, and mysticism—he teaches meditation as a way to cultivate natural human qualities of relaxation, a sense of humor, and a kind heart.
Lineage
After years of personal apprenticeship and training with numerous Tibetan Buddhist teachers, Jordan received Dharma Transmission and ordination as a Dharma Teacher from Anam Thubten, Rinpoche. He teaches with the blessing and permission from Rinpoche’s lineage, an unbroken tradition handed down from teacher to student, stretching back 2,600 years to Buddha Shakyamuni.
